Garden
page
This
page has several photos of my wonderful garden. Depending on the
speed of your connection, it may take a minute or two to download
all the images. Worth waiting if you like gardens!
 |
This
is the front of my house, facing southwest, with remains
of wallflowers and bluebells in foreground - it must be
May. There is a deep pink climbing rose against the house
and drainpipe. Later the beds have pinky-red valerian and
deep blue nepeta, then sage and marjoram, daylilies and
aster frikartii Munch which is brilliant for autumn, flowering
pale purple for ages. |
| This
is the western corner of my garden, under the apple trees.
My predecessor was a beekeeper and must have planted these
snowdrops and crocuses - they are wonderful! Later there
is cowparsley/ Queen Anne's Lace, and lots of ivy. The horses
lean over the fence and eat a lot of the apples. |

 |
This
is the front garden again, looking from the apple tree end
(west) up to the road (southeast) with climbing rose and
valerian and on the right, bright oriental poppies in the
boundary hedge. |
| Back
garden in May/June - the best time - showing irises, poppies
and daisies round my pond, and iris pseudacorus (flag iris)
growing out of the water. |
 |
 |
Side
garden in May in allium christophii, daisies, white feraniums
and alchemilla mollis. |
| Also
in the allicum bed - allicum schubertii, against the apple
trees. |
