Experience the twisty mountain roads, spectacular scenery
or just cruise along the lake side stopping off at cafes and restaurants taking in the relaxed atmosphere. The ferrys across the lake offer a short restbite from riding to take in the magnificant scenery before exploring the mountains and towns on the other side of the lake. Switzerland is only a 20 minute ride away. The ride to Bellagio is not for the faint hearted but well worth the effort. The Guzzi museum located at the factory at Mandello del Lario has a great collection of all things Guzzi.
The Moto Guzzi Museum is located in Mandello del Lario, on the eastern side of lake Como, in the heart of the historic factory where the legend of the Moto Guzzi eagle was born in 1921.
The Museum is home to a magnificent historical, technical and cultural heritage in the form of an impressive collection of over 150 exhibits representing production and sports motorcycles, experimental prototypes and engines illustrating the history of an Italian motorcycle that has become a worldwide legend. Another section of the museum is dedicated to the machines that wrote so many chapters in the magnificent racing history of Mandello del Lario. These include the Guzzi 4V of 1924, the bike with which Guido Mentasti won the first European title on the Monza circuit, Omobono Tenni’s Bicilindrica 500 of 1946, the Guzzi 350 that became “World Champion” in 1955. From more recent times there is even the V7 Record, the machine derived from the standard V7, that established 19 speed records at Monza in June and October 1969. Please phone for opening times.
