Terms and Conditions

I work on the basis of regular weekly, or twice weekly sessions, excepting holiday breaks during August and at Christmas and Easter. I am able to give notice of these breaks, if required, at the beginning of September for the following year. I also very occasionally attend professional events which may interrupt our meetings.

Once we begin the psychotherapy, the weekly session will be reserved solely for you and, excepting the weeks of my absences, I will have a general expectation that you will attend our sessions, without cancellations. If you, or I, need to be away for some unavoidable reason I will try to offer an alternative time for us to meet for that week although this cannot be guaranteed. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will be subject to full payment.

Extended absences or regularly missed sessions are not compatible with the work of psychotherapy, therefore it is vital that you consider your ability to meet these requirements before beginning psychotherapy.

My current fee is £45.00 per session.

Confidentiality and Professionalism

I will consider the existence of the therapy relationship, in itself, as confidential. This also extends to the content of sessions, all information divulged and to any information regarding the process of the psychotherapy. Limits to this, otherwise absolute, confidentiality are threefold, namely:

1. That I may, from time to time, discuss the process of the psychotherapy with a colleague as a means of clarification for myself. This would likewise be within a confidential, professional consulting relationship.

2. That to withhold information could result in harm to yourself, or others, or constitute my collusion, through knowledge, in actions which may result in legal proceedings.

3. That I am required to disclose information by a court of law.

I am currently a full member of the Association of Humanistic Psychology Practitioners in the category of Psychotherapist and am signatory to their Code of Ethical Principles, Code of Practice and Complaints Procedure. Copies of these documents can be obtained direct, and downloaded, from the AHPP at www.ahpp.org
