I had my primary and secondary education at St. Thomas' College, in SriLanka, and then moved on to Royal Institute where I did my O-Levels. After this, I went to the Stafford International School to do my A-Levels.

I've managed to keep in touch with a few of my friends from my school days, but I'd like to get in touch with many more of the (So guys, you know what to do !)

After finishing my Secondary Education in SriLanka, I moved to the "Granite City", Aberdeen, on the East Coast of Scotland, to do a degree in Mechanical Engineering in the Engineering Department at the  University of Aberdeen. That was way back in 1992, and although it seems like years ago (I guess it has been a while - 7 years !) I have many fond memories of the wonderful people I met there.

During my final year, I spent 3 months in Maskin- och fordonskonstruktion (the Department of Machine and Vehicular Design) at Chalmers tekniska högskola (Chalmers University of Technology),  in Göteborg, Sweden, writing a final year thesis on the "Effects of Product Data Management Systems on the Product development Process."

I graduated in July 1996 and not really knowing what I wanted to do next, I began a PhD, looking at the Dynamics of an Oscillating water column. About nine months of this made be realise that a PhD was not for me - not at that point in my life anyway!

Realising this, I started applying for jobs, and got offered a job at Rolls-Royce, as a graduate trainee. I moved down to Glasgow in October 1997 and began my first job there. An year later, I was moved to Derby, where I am now.

My job spec involves many different things, but primarily, my task is setting up a website for Compressor Systems (the business which I work within.)

In the little bit of spare time that I have, I enjoy dancing. I caught the dancing bug about January this year. It began with Salsa, and since then, there's been no stopping me. I took up Jazz about two months ago, and I'm enjoying that very much as well.

When I'm not working or dancing, the thing I like to do is travel. My last adventure took me to the East coast of Africa, from Zimbabwe to Kenya on an old London Double Decker Bus !!

(Arthur the Bus)

My next adventure is going to be through South America. (The countries I'd like to visit include Peru, Chile, and Argentina). This will probably happen in the summer of 2000 or 2001. So if anyone would like to join me or tell me where else I should go in south America, please e-mail me and let me know. Travel tips and "do's and don'ts in South America will also be very much appreciated.

If you wish to contact me, you could E-mail me. I'd love to hear from you. Any comments, about me, what I do, my web site of anything else will be more than welcome.

If you so desire, you could also have a look at my CV. Any job offers which will pay me loads of money will be given due consideration (the amount of consideration given to the offer will be in direct proportion to the size of the pay check being offered !)

If you are interested in what I've been up to in the recent past, you could check out the Ziggy Zaggy Diary

I hope you've enjoyed your visit to my little corner in cyber space, and I hope you do visit again soon.
