A little background info -

I started riding almost forty years ago and have instructed at various levels for the past twenty eight. These include under the RAC/ACU scheme, the Star Rider scheme, the BMF scheme, as a C.B.T. instructor and as a track instructor at Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Cadwell Park, Mallory, Oulton Park and Castle Combe circuits. I've also been an instructor at the legendary Nürburgring for ten years, run riding courses both in this country and abroad, am currently a Motorcycle Staff Examiner for the I.A.M. as well as being an examiner for RoSPA.

I passed the Police Advanced tests at Class One level for both bikes and cars, hold the N.V.Q. qualification for driver assessment and feedback, was, until my retirement, a Police driving Assessor - Verifier, and have also served as a Traffic Patrol officer with the Metropolitan Police for twenty three years.

I raced for a number of years during which time I won two B.M.C.R.C. (Bemsee) championships (for the 500cc Open and 600cc Production classes) and set a new race record at Brands Hatch for the 600cc Production class.
