Music

Music has always played an important part in my life, mostly listening but sometimes playing. In my late teens I played the drums for a rock group with Cream/Led Zep. influences (Ah those were the days!). Nowadays things are a little more sedate and I play occasional guitar in a ceilidh band.

For an extremely good index to ceilidh bands and events plus associated music styles try the following link:    Webfeet index to dance and dance music

I sometimes play for a local Morris Side that my wife Gillian dances for. The side is called Bollin Morris from the Altrincham area to the south of Manchester. They have their own Home Page.

A musician who shares some of my folk/cajun musical tastes, and also likes canals (so he must be a good bloke) is Pete Shaw who has his own pages including information about several bands that he plays for and their doings plus links to other interesting sites:    Click here to go to Pete Shaw's pages

I still like listening to all sorts of music ranging from folk through blues, cajun, zydeco to rock. I must also mention my favourite local band The Winchesters who play a fine blend of Western Swing/Blues and are well worth going to see. They play mostly around the Manchester, England area and if you get to see them I will guarantee you will have an excellent evening. Below I include a list of musical favourites and some links to sites with more information about them. Hopefully this list of links will grow when I have time to update these pages.
