This is a round-up of foreign-language editions of Jeremy Dronfield novels. So far there isn't a huge selection, but we hope this will change in the future.

So far, only The Locust Farm has appeared in translation. A Japanese edition of Resurrecting Salvador is expected in the not-too-distant future.

Update: The Japanese Locust Farm is selling well, and the translation of Resurrecting Salvador is due out in Autumn 2004.

To date, The Locust Farm has been translated into German, Dutch and Japanese.

The German edition goes under the title Die Heuschreckenfarm, which is a literal translation of "the locust farm".

It is published by Piper Verlag, and was translated by Berthold Radke. It was published in hardback in 1999 and paperback in 2000.

The Japanese edition was published in 2002 by Tokyo Sogensha. We don't know who translated it.

It's in an amazingly cute pocket paperback format, complete with dust-jacket.

The Japanese edition won a critics' award in December 2002 for Best Foreign Mystery Novel.

The Dutch edition is a bit cheesy. The title was changed to Fataal Geheugen, which we are told means "deadly suspicion". Hmm, not at all cliched.

It is published by Bzztoh, and again we don't know who translated it. Apparently, Dutch editions are usually worked on by teams of translators. The point is to get the book in the shops as quickly as possible, since most Dutch people are capable of reading the original English version.

What intrigues us is, did they build that little model farm and hills specially for the cover?
