Much internal modification has been carried out on the engine/gearbox unit, including special valves, springs, piston, connecting rod and camshaft in the quest for more power and that other ingredient for success, reliability.

The gearbox now benefits from special gears manufactured to provide more useful ratios for racing.

The machine was built to give an extra ride at different classic events at home and abroad.

Development continues on the machine for the 2003 season.

Its first major outing was The John Hall Memorial Race at Nutts Corner, Ireland in 2000. Ray was rewarded with a best placing of 6th against far more modern Japanese machinery, despite the absence of a fairing, disc brakes and other benefits available under the 1972 cut off date employed.

Development continues for this bike, including the fitting of a fairing, bringing it up to a more modern specification and therefore taking full advantage of the later period covered by classic regulations. Its next major outing was at Aberdare Park 21st and 22nd July where Ray acheived a 3rd in the Welsh Classic Championship.

This 250 is currently being used in the 350 event, hence the blue plates!
