Much internal modification has been carried out on the engine/gearbox unit, including
special valves, springs, piston, connecting rod and camshaft in the quest for more power
and that other ingredient for success, reliability.
The gearbox now benefits from special gears manufactured to provide more useful ratios for racing. The machine has been campaigned since 1992 by a succession of riders. The first of them getting off to a flying start by winning the VMCC Newcomer of the Year trophy for 7th in the 250cc Championship and outstanding performances in the Classic/Vintage Challenge races at Pembrey that year. This has been followed by top ten places in every subsequent 250cc championship with other riders aboard. The best result was an excellent 2nd in 2000, 2001 and 2002 achieved by the present pilot. Development continues on the machine for the 2003 season.
Another machine is being used for the occasional Classic events. (Ray's Enfield.)
