The Prudhoe Gleemen
Welcome to the
Home Page of The Prudhoe Gleemen, one of the oldest and most
famous Male Voice choirs in the North East of England. The
Choir was founded in 1903 and is still delighting audiences
all over the country with its excellent and varied singing.
The Choir meet every monday evening at 7.30pm in the
Methodist Church, West Road, Prudhoe, with a break for
holidays during August each year. The practice is usually
finished by 9.00pm. There are around 50 members in the choir
at present, spread across the four lines of Top Tenor, Second
Tenor, Baritone and Bass, with numbers fairly evenly split
between them. Ages range from sixth-formers to fairly senior
citizens, with the majority in their middle years.
