HARVEY ENDS SUCCESSFUL AUSTRALIAN SUMMER

Ian Harvey played in his last game of the Australian summer in the Pura Milk Cup final for Victoria against Queensland.

However, it was not a happy end to the season as Victoria only managed to draw the final of the first-class competition which meant that Queensland were the winners as they finished above Victoria in the qualifying group.

It's been a successful season for Harvey with many good performances for Victoria and selection for Australia's record winning one-day squad.

Victoria only came fifth in the one-day Mercantile Mutual Cup although Harvey played well in most games. However, his real success came in the first-class game. He averaged 49.36 with the bat with a century against Western Australia. He took 37 wicket at 22.27, regularly taking crucial wickets.

In the final he top scored for Victoria in the first innings with 50 and took a wicket in Queensland's second innings. Victoria were outplayed in the match and Harvey missed the last day through illness.

Harvey was recently named in Australia's squad for three one-day matches in South Africa on 12-16 April. This means he will miss the start of the season for Gloucestershire but will join up with the squad in England around 20 April.

See Ian Harvey's player page for his averages.
