Gloucestershire have appealed to the ECB after Worcestershire fielded an illegible player in the NatWest Trophy third round match between the two sides.
19 year-old pace bowler Kabir Ali played for Worcestershire Cricket Board in the first round of the Trophy scoring 7 and taking 2-52. He then played an important role in Worcestershire's third round victory over Gloucestershire. He took 2-45 from his ten overs and then removed Jeremy Snape with a catch.
One player is not allowed to play for two different teams in the same competition.
Gloucestershire's appeal is being dealt with by the ECB who have a variety of options including ordering a replay. |
