BRISTOL WINS ENGLAND-AUSTRALIA CLASH

Gloucestershire have been successful in its bid to stage a one-day international between England and Australia at the County Ground in Bristol next year.

The match will take place on the 10th June 2001 in front of a crowd of 15,000 as part of a triangular tournament involving England, Australia and Pakistan.

It will be the third year in a row that there has been international cricket in Bristol after the World Cup last year and the recent West Indies-Zimbabwe floodlit match. The match next year will not be floodlit.

Ian Harvey is likely to be in Australia's squad and maybe even some other Gloucestershire players will be given recognition by the England selectors.

Tickets will go on sale later in the year when prices have been set.
