England have completed their warm-up games for
the Wills International Cup.
Jack Russell took part in both the games
against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. He held the lower order together with 21 and
took one catch against Zimbabwe as England won by 118 runs. In the second game,
in front of thousands of home supporters, he scored 14 and made two excellent
stumpings down the leg side - more than he managed in first-class competition
all season for Gloucestershire. He also took one catch as England beat
Bangladesh by 36 runs.
The warm-up matches took place at the
Bangladesh Institute of Sport which is over 40km from Dhaka where all the games
in the competition (which will be floodlit) will take place. England play South
Africa on Sunday in the 36,000 seater stadium.
