GLOUCESTERSHIRE ATRACT NEW SPONSORS

Gloucestershire have agreed a new sponsorship deal with Merchant Investors Assurance. The six-figure deal means that the company will be Gloucestershire's main sponsor for the next two seasons. They take over from Tetley. Merchant Investors Assurance have been involved with Gloucestershire before. From next season their names will appear on the players' shirts. The company moved to Bristol seven years ago and are part of the one of the world's biggest insurance groups Allianz. |

- Gloucestershire are said to be interested in signing former Derbyshire captain Kim Barnett. He has asked to be released but his county say he can only leave if he is going to take up a coaching role. Gloucestershire batting let them down last season and they are looking to strengthen in that area.
