ENGLAND DEBUT AWAITS ALLEYNE

Mark Alleyne has been named in the England squad for the Carlton and United Series in Australia.

The triangular tournament begins on January 10th and England will play Australia and Sri Lanka five times each with an extra three games if they reach the final. All games are floodlit.

Alleyne was selected in the sixteen man squad for the competition after being selected in the provisional 23-man squad. He is very likely to make his international debut and will then have a good chance of playing in the World Cup.

Alleyne's batting and medium pace bowling will be very useful for England and according to chairman of selectors David Gravney his 'wicket-keeping experience gives another option'.
