GLOUCS MOVE IN ON DERBYSHIRE TARGET

Gloucestershire are planning an official approach to sign Derbyshire batsman Kim Barnett The 38 year-old still has two years to run on his present contract but the county have agreed to release him after a disagreement. Gloucestershire are confident that the fact that he is a list one player will not prevent the deal. Recent signing Jeremy Snape was also a list one player. |

- Mark Alleyne played in England's latest Carlton & United Series match against Sri Lanka. He didn't bowl but made 18 before being stumped. England went on to win by four wickets.
