Gloucestershire captain Mark Alleyne has not been included in England's 15-strong World Cup squad.
Alleyne impressed in the Carlton & Unitied Series but had to return early because of the death of his father. His excellent attitude as well as his leadership, batting, bowling, fielding and wicketkeeping abilities lined him up for a place but he was quickly forgotten.
Alleyne could be given a chance if there are injuries to members of the squad.
Whilst being desparately disappointing for Alleyne, it could be good news for Gloucestershire as he will not miss pre-season training and the start of the season. |
