1st XI Coach John Bracewell will talk to Chris Taylor about a contract after a fine performance for the 2nd XI.

Young batsman Taylor made 300 not out as the 2nd XI made 642-4 declared and went on to bowl Somerset out twice to win by an innings after Bobby Dawson had lost the toss.

Bracewell will talk to Taylor about a contract and says the ability to stick around and make a big score is needed by English cricket.
