The draw for the 1999 NatWest Trophy has been
made with 60 teams to compete for the FA Cup of cricket.
The 18 First Class Counties, Recreational
teams from 38 counties plus Scotland, Holland, Denmark and Ireland will be going
for a place in the final which will be played a week earlier that this season on
28 August.
The winners of a first round match between
recreational teams from Durham and Oxfordshire will play Staffordshire in round
two. The winners of this match will then host Gloucestershire in the third
round. It is likely that if Gloucestershire win that match, they will play last
year's finalists, Derbyshire, at home for a place in the quarter finals.
The early round dates are:- Round One:
Tuesday 4 May
Round Two: Wednesday 19 May Round Three: Wednesday 23 June Round
Four: Wednesday 7 July.
Every recreational side reaching the third
round gets a home tie against first-class opposition. Denmark are playing in the
competition and Holland get their first home match. |
