Allendale BrewCo is based in Allendale, South West Northumberland. We brewed our first batch of beer on St. Valentine's Day, 14th of February 2006. This is the first commercial brewing of beer in Allendale since the closure of the original Allendale Brewery, which finished as a brewery in 1887.

The company is the dream of Tom and Jim Hick, Head Brewer and Mash Tun Monkey respectively.

The brewery is located in the former site of Ridley's Haulage Yard on the picturesque River East Allen a short walk from Allendale town centre, where the beer can be enjoyed in the popular pub The Golden Lion. Travelling from Hexham or Haydon Bridge beer is also available in The Carts Bog Inn.

NEWS! Bottled beers coming soon!!!
Due to massive demand we are starting to bottle our beers. All the beers will be available in bottled form, look out for them in local shops and supermarkets or call or email the brewery direct for the latest information.

Unfortunately we are unable to post our pump-clips, beer mats and other memorabilia. This is due to the great demand we recieve and the cost & time required.

The First beer brewed is Curlew's Return, a traditional ale at 4.2% abv, with a good malt flavour and a delightful aroma from Goldings and Cascade hops. The name is designed to coincide with the return of the seasonal migrant wading bird, the Curlew, that breeds and nests in the local upland fields and moors and whose distinctive cry is evocative of early spring.

Coming beers will include Allendale Best Bitter, Black Grouse and Allendale Wolf

We are brewing on a new 10 barrel plant, with a current capacity of 720 Gallons per week (5760 Pints).

We brew using the finest malt and fresh hops, with an emphasis on quality and consistency.

We aim to supply pubs and other outlets in the North East and North West as well as private wholesale supplies to parties, weddings etc. We will soon be providing brewery tours. For more information or to order beer please do not hesitate to contact us, we will be more than happy to answer any questions or arrange visits.
