Hamilton Area Local Group RSPB

This is your nearest RSPB Area Local Group to Baron’s Haugh. Why not join us, usually on the 3rd Thurs. evening in each month? We are a very open, friendly group and are all in the business of learning more about birds and enjoying ourselves in the process.

Our evening usually starts with a free-for all, with everyone chipping in whatever interesting things they have seen. There is a main speaker – the topics varying throughout the year. A sociable cup of tea is then followed by questions to the speaker and we often finish the evening with a very basic look at some images of species that we are possibly going to be watching locally.

There is a series of  Sun. day-trips (following each Thurs.) by car or sometimes bus to good birding areas. Once a year we extend this to a weekend away. Our members have many varied interests including photography, rarity-finding, conservation work and work on specific species. To be honest though, most folk just enjoy the company.

The venue is the Water Sports Centre of Strathclyde Country Park, Motherwell and our programme is given below. Drop in and see us – you will be made very welcome.
