Travel

(By car)

Baron’s Haugh lies close to the M74 in the Clyde valley. Coming off that motorway into Motherwell, turn right at the traffic lights (Airbles Rd) and right again at the third roundabout (Adele St). It is advisable to park near the end of this street and walk down, as the car park on the Reserve is isolated and unattended.

(By rail)

Take train to nearest railway station (Airbles Rd.), walk up Airbles Rd.to the second roundabout, turn right (Adele St.) and continue along to the end and down to the Reserve.

Access

From the car park, follow the path up over the brow of the hill and downhill through the kissing gate to the edge of the Haugh. The tree sign there will give directions to all 4 Hides. The map below will explain the Haugh layout; a circular walk round the main water areas is available by using the Chestnut Walk.  For other features of the Reserve, see Area ref. numbers below.
