Be tempted by this quote from Alastair Sawday's

"Special Places to Stay in Britain" ( ASP, 44 Ambra Vale East, Bristol BS8 4RE):

"Dangle your toes in the Kennet River; it flows briskly past the clipped lawn of this exquisitely decorated home. It looks every inch a doll's house, but Jeremy and Heather add a deft human touch. The elegance of excellent breakfasts taken in the conservatory is balanced by the comforting hubbub emanating from the family kitchen. There's a sitting room for guests with an open fire and, upstairs, the thickly curtained, valanced and, in places, ornate bedrooms are ingeniously clustered around the chimney breast. Time slips by effortlessly here, and many people come to visit the crop circles."

....or, from an earlier edition:

"Picture perfect, outside and in: it's everything that you'd expect to see in the best glossy interior magazines, but with human beings in it. A doll's house façade looks onto a gently sloping garden with river and swans. Inside, not a tacky thing in sight, just huge pillows, lovely linen, perfect furniture, style everywhere. Breakfast in the conservatory which leads off the kitchen, so you are in touch with the heart of the house. Heather is a professional flower arranger and it shows."
