JAMBOREE ON THE AIR 2003!
JOTA in Hallowtree, Ipswich...
... We camped over night and were operating in a marquee. It was very, very cold! But everyone had a very good time. I'd like to say THANK YOU to Peter Best G8BLS who was our leader and all other leader/helpers who were there you all did a brilliant job and made JOTA run like clockwise. I am a part of Framlingham Scouts and decided to go when a poster caught my eye. Our callsign was GB2IRS (Great Britain 2 Ipswich Radio Scouts) Because mostly Ipswich Radio Scouts were there. We had all band capabilities and were useing Slow & Fast Scan.
What is JOTA?
JOTA is where scout groups from all over the world demonstrate what amateur radio is about, how it works and lets scouts without licenses to have a go and get involved with radio.
