My Mindstorms Diary

21st April 2003

At the moment my Lego Mindstorm is doing very well I have built a cross between the roverbot (a simple robot on 4 wheels) and the inventorbot (an interactive android (a human like robot))

20 July 2003

I have just completed my new robot. It is a six wheel drive exploration robot with two touch sensors, one at the front and one at the back. The front and middle wheels, on both sides, are powered via a cog/gear from the motor. The rear wheel is powered by a belt drive that connected from the middle wheel. There is also a light sensor on the robot, it even has its own wheel storage where the robot can hold every wheel you get in the ROBOTICS INVENTION SYSTEM 2 set (the £159.99 one)(14 wheels). From varying from bit to small.

29 January 2004

I have gone the mile and made a track robot, rear driven. it looks a lot like Behemoth from 'Robot Wars' (CH 5, 1:40, Sunday) and is very powerful and quick.

SPEC: 2, 8 volt motors. Length: 10 inches(25.5 cm) Width: 6.25 inches (16 cm). 1 light sensor. 2 touch sensors.

Info

Mindstorm sets can vary in price the cheapest is about £49.99 the most expensive is about £159.99. So make the decision. Buy the cheap one and avoid the long wait of savings and small box, or get the expensive one, have a long wait but a huge box  (over 700 pieces)
