Having owned a good selection of the export models
featured on this site I now much prefer for my own playing enjoyment
Fender Japan's non-export models which are fitted with US pickups. These guitars combine the
very best of Japanese build quality and attention to detail with the
excellent sound of US Vintage or Texas Special pickups. It is generally
accepted among guitar enthusiasts that the Fender Japan product is far
superior to the Mexican equivalent and equal to, if not better, than
Fender US guitars. And it is between a third and a half the price! That is
why only a very few Fender Japan guitars are officially imported.
