Create a watercolour of a tree scene, using 4 colours, 2 brushes and a little technique...

Step 10: 1st Tree Details

Coming back to your first tree, you need to separate the main trunk and branches away slightly from the background. To do this, mix the Burnt Umber and Ultramarine and place this mix on the left of your tree and branches, and then, using a little water, soften this stronger mix into the right side of the tree, giving you a contrast of dark and light sides to the main trunk and selected main branches.
