How You Can Help!

If you find this site interesting, here is a list of things you might be able to do to help.

1. To improve the site I need to know what readers think. Tell me your impressions of this site and the argument it presents. Tell me you think its rubbish - and why! Tell me you think its terrific - and why - and which bits could be improved, just a little!

2. I want to generate an increased awareness of this issue and everyone can help merely by talking about it to people who might be interested. Even better, put up a notice in your institute where interested people such as students of cell biology or the philosophy or sociology of science are likely to read it. You can create your own notice, or obtain a suitable one from here.

3. Tell me how you found this site. E-mail me to say how you came to know about this work. I may not reply, it depends on work and time, but I will still be grateful as the information will help me to decide which attempts at publicity are most effective.

4. I would like to create a visitor's book where surfers can read comments about the site. You can E-mail your comments for such a page but I will only consider using them if you include your consent, your full name, your institutional affiliation or surface address and your E-mail address.

5. Do you have your own internet site and an interest in cell biology or the philosophy of science? If so, it would help if you mentioned this site, expressing your opinion and creating a link as you do so. There follows, (between but not including the asterisks ***) the site to which such a link must be formed. (Note, no www). If you create such a link, do tell me as, if the site moves, I will need to contact you.

6. If you are a student of biology or cell biology then, when your class gets to cell motility, ask your teachers about capping and particle movement and for the reasoning that has led to the rejection of the wave model. If they tell you - great - now you can tell me and I can use it in the book.

7. Tell your teachers about this site and that you are interested in the topic. You could even consider it as a subject for one of your reports.

8. Write to a couple of the principal actors in the field and ask them about the issues. There are addresses on this site. You never know, they may explain the other side of the case. If they do, please pass that explanation on to me.
