Occupation:
Journalist, Information Director of pro-NHS pressure group London Health Emergency, a job he has held for 17 years. LHE offers information, comment and in-depth research on all NHS policy issues to health and other trade unions, campaigners and the media throughout much of England and Wales.
John also teaches journalism, and lectures on health policy.
Local involvement:
30 years in local left wing politics.
Active involvement throughout that time in many campaigns, especially on unionisation, fighting cuts and closures in health, education and other public services, and in opposition to censorship.
Publicity officer for Oxfordshire Stop The Cuts Campaign.
Chair of Oxford & District National Union of Journalists.
Other interests:
Studying for PhD in comparative health policy
Cooking, listening to music, holidays, gardening, reading.
