A "blown" Ulster engine, fitted with a late-Ruby head and
other mods. Note the water pump - virtually unique to the Ulster,
the rear-mounted oil filler with oil pressure adjusting valve
underneath, the non-original SU carb, short nosepiece, semi
cross-flow radiator and pipes leading to the modern remote oil
filter. This car also has a coil conversion, dispensing with the
relatively unreliable magneto, but retaining all the fittings to
change back if desired. Note too, no fan is fitted, nor necessary
under most conditions and the absence of a dynamo which also wastes
power. Just visible by the rear bottom hose clip, is one of the
extra studs retaining the block, as this is a ten stud version.
