LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

The following are a few of our recommended local attractions (with links):

  • Doniford Bay - excellent for searching for Fossils.

  • Dunster Village - Castle and Gardens, owned by National Trust.

  • Quantock Hills - only 1.5 miles with fantastic views and variety of walks.

  • Blue Anchor Bay – sandy beach.

  • Tropiquaria – well worth a visit.

  • Kilve – small village with duck pond. A short walk to the beach where fossils can be found. River, picnic area and coastal walks.

  • Porlock/Bossington – picturesque villages with National Trust walks to Selworthy and a coastal walk to Hurlstone Point and Hurlstone Beach.

  • Exmoor National Park – enjoy the varied landscapes of Lorna Doone country.

  • Taunton – large town/good shopping centre and Taunton Castle Museum which are both worth a visit.

  • Dulverton – day out by the River Barle and Tarr Steps.

  • Lynton & Lynmouth – cliff railway from Lynmouth to Lynton and walks to Valley of the Rocks and Watersmeet.

  • Further afield is Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge and Coombe Martin (nice beach with a bay and wild life park). Also Clarks Village in Street is worth a visit for factory and shopping outlets.
