Pond Builds

Home

Although we do an awful lot of pond upgrades, we always enjoy the total design & build jobs.

Here are just some of the design & builds that we have recently carried out.

The first Project we'll call "the Robinson's"

The Brief in short was to design & build a pond to suit the existing pond whilst enhancing the rest of the garden.

As there was already a pond in the location we wanted to build on, we had to demolish it!

It turned out to be an almost archaeological dig!

As you can see from the above, we were very restricted with the amount of space available......

After the block work was completed the rest of the job just came together........

And there we have the Robinson's project!

The Pond has a Filtertech filter fed by 5500 litres/hour Aquamax, and 55watt TMC uv sterilizer consuming 130 watts!

Before ......... And After!

The next Project shall be called " The Reeder's" project.

This turned out to be one of my best projects due to the clients understanding of what a koi pond needs to

provide the optimum conditions for koi Keeping. I had been briefed by the client as to what equipment we

would use and also the basic measurements of the pond (what the missus would allow!).

This one was a bit different as the client was digging the hole! and after about 30 tonnes of

removal I had my blank canvass.

The pond has gravity fed Nexus 300 filter fed by two spindrifter bottom drains pulling 8000 litres per hour.

The skimmer is powered with a 3500 Aquamax leading to a 55 watt TMC UV sterilizer.

Both returns are mid water making it a very quiet set up. The pond gets around 120 litres of air per minute!

Initially there were no plans to do the whole garden. But the client was impressed with thestandard of

workmanship and asked if we would do the rest!

Now for my favourite pond from last year. This one is called "Glenys's Pond"

This job came about after an existing customer put my name forward to one of his friends,

when they decided they wanted a larger pond. The initial site visit went well as the client knew

exactly what she wanted. I measured up and went away to cost the materials so I could submit the quote.

When I submitted the quote, The client informed me that the plan had changed and the pond would

be "L" shape and 66% bigger! So back to the drawing board, I was able to submit a new quote and the client

was happy to accept. The biggest part of the job was the removal of some 36 tonne of spoil and then the concrete pad.

We ended up going over the hedge at the back of the garden!

As you can see from above, It is very different and with all of the contours in the pond, the water circulates very well indeed.

The filtration is hidden and the returns are mid water. The pond runs on 250 Watts! and is extremely quiet.
