WATER POLO REPORT- AGM
The club and coach
session scheduled to be held at RAF Cranwell was originally supported by 5
coaches but only 8 swimmers.
It was therefore cancelled under the
recommendation of the region.
It was rearranged for
September 2008, at Grantham, with support for publicity and promotion of it,
coming from the water polo club as well as the rest of the county.
There was no coach
available so this again was postponed.
There was an informal
meeting held at Grantham on 14th November 2008, which was attended
by the EMASA water polo secretary at which both the club and coach session and
the development of water polo in the county were discussed.
A development plan for
water polo in the county is to be put together, which will include having three
club and coach sessions in 2009 around the county. These should be at Boston,
Lincoln and Spalding, mostly financed by the region. It is hoped that these can
be linked together with development of clubs in the county
Three sessions of mini
water polo were held at Horncastle in conjunction with Horncastle otters.
Average attendees for these were 22 ranging from 10-18
Two further sessions
were held at the request of the leisure centre for their sessions. Average
attendees here were 14 aged 10-18
Teaching course for
mini polo was held at Boston and these coaches/teachers will be targeted when
we have a date for the development days.
Regional training
centre sessions for 1994 and later born, recommenced in Nottingham in October
2008
A UKCC level 1 course
for water polo is being held at Hucknall; only one person from the county is
attending (from Grantham).
