CHAMPIONSHIPS & AGE GROUP COMPETITONS 2010

I enclose the information you require for entry to the County Championships in 2010. Please ensure that swimmers and parents have copies of all the information.

As was the case in 2009 only Girls aged 13 years and younger and Boys aged 14 years and younger will be eligible for Junior Awards (i.e. BAGCAT age swimmers). All age groups are as on 27^th March 2010.

In Galas 5 & 6 there will be both an A & B final for the 50m Skins event. Heats of the A & B final will alternate. There will be no restriction on the number of reserves for these finals.

BAGCAT Awards will be for the first twelve placed swimmers with the usual three Championship and Junior Championship medals. The first three placed swimmers in each event and age group will receive age group medals.

Numbers for the 800m and 1500m freestyle events may have to be limited dependent on the number of entries received. Reserves will be notified. At the time of writing this letter the arrangements for the 800m and 1500m freestyle events have not been finalised. All information supplied must be regarded as provisional – confirmation will be published as soon as possible.

All swimmers are required to be registered with the ASA as Category 2 for the Club in whose name they wish to enter, by Saturday 16^th January 2010. Please make sure, in particular, that swimmers who have their 9^th birthday early in 2010 and are entering the Championships are registered in time, to avoid disappointment.
