MINUTES OF EXECUTIVE MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 16TH JANUARY 2007 AT NORTH KESTEVEN LEISURE CENTRE

3. Matters Arising
C.Wagstaff and husband and B.Rowe attended dinner with Anne Adams King.
Time Trials for distance events will be held on 18th February information circulated to all clubs.

Report of Hon Fixtures Secretary
Good response from over 30 swimmers for the County Skills day on the 3rd February.

Nothing to report except to remind clubs that the closing date for this years entries is the 20th January.

Report of Hon Treasurer
A request had been received requesting £100.00 assistance towards a swimmers expense to attend the Schools International Gala, after a short discussion DH proposed £50.00 donation from the County and GD seconded. This would be dependant on what the swimmers school could assist with.

Report of Hon records officer
RW said that 2 record claims for M.Storr LVSC and S.Allen LVSC had been ratified. B.Marsters time achieved at the 3rd round of Speedo was also ratified. March rankings will be available from the end of February.
A discussion took place about new record claims for all events and distances swum at the County Championships. It was agreed that from the 10th March 2007, swimmers would be able to claim records for all events and distances. There will also be a new record group for swimmers aged 9yrs and under, in addition to all current records, they will be able to claim records for 100m strokes. It was agreed that a notice would be put on the County website and that a claim form would be included in this years programme.
12. Report of the Hon Officials Secretary
G.Dix gave an explanation of the changes coming in as of the 1st October 2007 to the way Officials exams will be taken and the new structure and titles of Officials. Information on this will be circulated to clubs and Officials and is also available on British swimming website or via the link on the County website.

Report of the Hon Education Secretary
Long course training took place at Loughborough on the 7th Jan 1 club pulled out at the last minute – no refund given.
Equity and Child protection courses to take place in Lincoln, CP course over subscribed an additional date to be set.
New teacher/coach course commencing September 2007.
14. Report of the Hon Disability Secretary
SG attending course on the 24th January he will also be attending pilot officials course on 3rd February.
15. Report of the Hon Open Water Secretary
Open Water committee could be disbanded at regional level. An open water trial at Victoria baths Nottingham will be held on the 21st January. A risk assessment course for open water swimmers is to be arranged.
16. Report of the Hon Water Polo Secretary
Report circulated, The Meres Grantham is now the centre of excellence.

Exec dates for 2007
Agreed as 24th April, 26th June, 9th October and 27th November for AGM all will be held at North Kesteven Sports Centre.

The following were elected for the talent pathway sub-committee P.Crowley, N.Walker, J.Savory, M.Reynolds, D.Hendel, and B.Rowe. The following from the East Midlands region will be asked to sit on this committee J.Grange, F.Furniss, M.Moss and D.Carter from the Lincolnshire Sports partnership. Date of first meeting will be 6th February at North Kesteven Sports Centre.
20. AOB
B.Rowe said that all clubs should now be thinking of commencing swim 21 if not already started. It would be a good idea for clubs to get together to exchange information on the swim 21 process to help each other along. Should any club require assistance to contact D.Carter.
2 County records set at Biggleswade.
D.Hendel asked on behalf of LV if it would be possible to have the medals at the County Championships engraved with the year and event. All thought this was a good idea and N.Savory to inquire with the suppliers.
