Minutes of the exec meeting held on 8th January 2008 at North Kesteven Sports Centre

Shelia Smith (CLP) has offered to stand as Age Group Secretary; Dave Hendel offered to remain as Fixtures Secretary.  All in attendance accepted both offers.

MC said that the software from Ray Wheeler had now been received. Claims received are currently being postmarked. Updating of records will be done ASAP. Rankings will hopefully be issued before the Counties.

 

 

 

11.              Report of the Hon Officials Secretary

Disappointing news that none of our candidates passed the recent refs exam, which was felt by Brian Johnson to be hard and should take 90 minutes whereas the exam was 60.

 

Mentors meeting went well and procedures have been agreed for the new workbooks, which have been circulated to all clubs.

 

12.              Report of the Hon Education Secretary

Long Course training dates have been booked for the 15th June and 26th October Loughborough 4 – 6 pm. Clubs will be contacted to book lanes.

 

13.              Report of the Hon Development Secretary

The development issues paper that BK presented at the AGM has now been circulated to all clubs. BK is intending to meet with all County clubs to discuss some of the challenges and some of the wider issues that each club is dealing with. BK would like all clubs to send dates of their 2008 meetings to the County Secretary so that he can plan which to attend and when. – Report attached

Disability training day/workshop being organised at Loughborough

 

15.              Report of the Hon Open Water Secretary

16.              Report of the Hon Water Polo Secretary

In conjunction with the Lincs Sports Partnership we are trying to fix a water polo watch and try session on Saturday 16th February in which we are hoping some current players can come from Grantham, Spalding, RAF Waddington and perhaps Scunthorpe. This will also have a synchronised swimming display from some national champions. AB will be trying to contact the clubs and individuals in the next couple of weeks.

 

AB has not been informed of whom is the East Midland ASA water polo secretary or of any meetings relating to water polo that require a representative from Lincolnshire.

 

Sessions on Saturday evening are still being held each Saturday in January from 6.00pm.

Main discussion on Regional appointments being advertised internally or externally

 

18.              Talent Pathway update + election of sub-committee

JS has been in touch with Roger Glithero (EMASA) Fred Furniss will be available at the end of January for road shows for parents. FF will also be available for the interview panel for the coach post. This post is due to be advertised on various websites this week.

 

2 people will be required for the interview panel along with FF, JS suggested Martyn Reynolds (Deepings), plus one from the Lincs ASA. JS has approached Guy Dix.

 

JS has suggested to RG that the Lincs ASA could hire pools and swimmers that attend would pay subs to there club then forward to Lincs ASA treasurer. A new club would need to be set up JS suggested a possible name could be Aqua Lincs. JS suggested an introductory offer for Southern based clubs

 

The steering committee to comprise of the following

 

1 EMASA rep

1 LCASA rep

1 Lincolnshire Club rep

1 LV rep

Employed coach.

 

Neil Walker will contact the clubs in the south for a club representative.

Emergency committee – S.Gray, S.Gunter and G.Smith

Champs/Age Group – G.Richardson, S.Gray and S.Smith

Swimming – G.Richardson

 

20.              Agreement of Dates for 2008 Exec Meetings

1st April, 1st July, 7th October 2008. To be held at North kesteven Sports centre. AGM 25th November at Boston venue to be confirmed.

 

21.              AOB

BK said that a new position was being created at the sports partnership these will be competition managers to promote interschool competitions. Every County will have one and will be a link between schools and clubs, Appointments to commence in early April.
