photo of Barbara "Dance, in one form or another, has been a part of my life since I was a small child but it was not until I met the 5 Rhythms that I found a space where I could dance the simple truth of my passion for dance! That was my personal hook. Finding myself in a hall with a wealth of exquisite music and the space to move as passionately and creatively as I wished was nothing short of bliss. It was the beginning of a journey that has taken me to many places. I've found my fire and my grief here. I've also discovered there is magic in my fingertips, and wings on my feet and a round sensuality that I knew very little about before. The dance has taken me through belated adolescent sulks and rages to the wilder places of my Soul.
"It has been and continues to be a liberating, sometimes delightful, sometimes challenging journey; a meeting with the reality of being human! One of the Rhythms' greatest gifts, however, has been the framework it has provided in which to share my love of dance with others and the community that has developed around that shared practice has been an unexpected and precious outcome. I love to garden, walk, write and photograph the landscape. I have a passion for flowers and the beauty and inspiration of the natural world is still my base line."
