A beautifully made scale model of a 19th Century Cocking Cart with rider and horse.
These carts were designed to transport fighting cocks but, like dog carts, developed into pleasure carts and were rarely used for their original purpose. Two riders could drive the cart in tandem, seated side by side with a seat behind for the groom. Being very tall, the cart could quickly become unstable.
