Paul Stevens, our Hon. Secretary since 2002, has been voted by the Band Members, as the Band Person Of The Year for 2004/5. The honour has been well and truly earned by Paul, for as well as being our Solo Horn he performs many hours of sterling work, behind the scenes, as our Hon. Sec., thus ensuring the smooth running of the Band in all ways.

Paul started to learn at the age of six and joined the Band the following year as 2nd. Horn. By 1995 he was playing Solo Horn. In 1997 Paul moved away to University and during the next four years played with the Yewsley & West Drayton Band (West London).

A most talented player and a really likeable person, always ready and willing to help others, Paul is an excellent choice to be given this title for the ensuing year.

OUR YOUNGEST BAND MEMBER

LAUREN BLEWETT

Lauren is eleven years old and is already a valued playing member of the Band. She started to learn the cornet at the age of seven and took such a liking to it that she joined Penzance Silver Band. Lauren later decided to move closer to home and became a member of Pendeen Silver Band. Lauren also plays for Penzance Junior School Band and has played solos at her school, High Street Church and St. Just Dancing School concerts and many other organisations. A regular attender at our Wednesday evening learners classes, Lauren also keeps herself busy as a member of 'CAPE' and will be in their next pantomime 'Dick Whittington' in addition to the forthcoming production of 'Oliver' which is soon being presented by the St. Just Operatic Society. A really active and energetic young lady, Lauren is a real asset to the Band and we all predict a great future for her.
