A UNIQUE OFFER !

A COMPLETE COLLECTION OF U.K.CHART SINGLES 1952-69

EVERY record to have appeared in the U.K. hit parade from 1952-1969 as listed in the Guinness Book Of British Hit Singles. This collection comprises over 3,800 original issues in either 78 or 45 format, all with original covers. Because several records were double-sided hits, this results in there being over 4,000 hits in all. 98% are in VG or better condition.

The collection has been featured on TV, and in national newspapers, and is now coming up for sale.

I bought my first hit 45 (Ray Peterson's 'Corrine Corrina') in my then local record shop in Rye in Sussex as a teenager in 1961, and didn't finally complete the set until 1997, when I finally secured a copy of Acker Bilk's notably elusive 'Goodnight Sweet Prince' at a record fair in Croydon, Surrey.

One of the only complete collections of 50s and 60s hit singles to be held in private hands, the sale represents a unique opportunity for an enthusiast to acquire all the big records from the golden era of pop music.

They are all here -- the rock and rollers... Bill Haley, Elvis, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, Wanda Jackson and the rest. The teen idols, from Al Martino, Guy Mitchell & Eddie Fisher, to Cliff Richard, Adam Faith, Ricky Nelson, the Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, Bobby Vee etc. The groups. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Byrds, Searchers, Lovin' Spoonful & many more. Joe Meek artists such as John Leyton, the Fabulous Flee-Rakkers, Michael Cox, the Tornados etc. The one-hit wonders. Shaye Cogan, Jewel Akens, Hal Paige and the Whalers & many more. Also all the country-pop artists including Eddy Arnold, Frankie Laine, Don Gibson, Slim Whitman and all their counterparts. If it made the top 50 in the U.K. between 1952 & 1969, it is here.

Please note that I can provide information relating to all the artists featured in the collection - and many more...see POPULAR MUSIC ARCHIVE page.

Book price for this collection if all records could be bought individually would be around £25,000. But around 15% of the records included are now either very difficult, or virtually impossible to find nowdays. It actually took me four years to obtain the last five records I needed to complete the set.

All offers over £30,000 will be considered, and viewing can be arranged, though some notice would be required, as they are held in secure storage.
