Groundworks is an eight square meter ceramic floor installation made from press moulded brick clay floor tiles. The project was designed and made for 'No 27 - The Ruin On The Corner' a bronze metal winning stand deigned and build by Keppel Nowsen of Keppel Designs.

The pieces for the floor are be a repeat pattern made up of interconnecting circular tiles. This configuration allows for some of the tiles to be removed and replaced with planting and some are purposefully worn down to give the impression of age and decay. Which was the general inspiration for the stand.

It is my intention to work more in this direction and create designs to be placed in the ground that are of a contemporary design but weather and blend in to their surroundings.
