Why no fatwahs against the murderers of innocent people, including fellow Moslems? Every true servant of Allah knows that He expects them to protect the innocent and helpless. So where are the Imams willing to proclaim fatwahs against those of their people who murder innocent women and men? Allah hardly needs fatwas to protect Him against the blasphemers. What He does require is that all Moslems protect the innocent. Through his
prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Allah has said "I created
my servants in the right religion, but devils made them go astray."

BOOK
REVIEWS THE AFRICAN AMERICAN
EXPERIENCE IN CYBERSPACE by A Resource Guide to
the Best Websites on Black Culture and History Published December
2003 by Review by How often have you exploded with frustration as you scan down
search engines’ long lists, frequently comprised of many hundreds of
thousands of entries purporting to be just what you are looking for? How
often have you switched to website after website hunting for what you really
want only to find that the majority of them hardly cover the subject you are
interested in? And then too many of the links amount only to advertisements
for sites which have nothing to do with your quest. Well, here is your
answer, a book that should sit on the desk of every Black person who has a
computer and who is interested in using the World Wide Web to extend his or
her knowledge of the culture, society and history of Africans and the
Diaspora. Abdul Alkalimat, a Professor of Sociology and Director of the
African Studies program at the University of Toledo, Ohio, has used his
extensive knowledge of the subject to produce a directory of sites that
genuinely cover African History and Culture. His book, The African
American Experience in Cyberspace, covers almost only sites in North
America but in time it would be very valuable not only to Black people
outside the USA as well as the African community in North America itself. This accessible and straightforward book is presented in two
parts: Guide to the Best History Sites and Guide to the Best
Society and Culture Sites. Each part is then divided into lucid chapters
dealing with every facet of the society, culture and history of African
American experience. In the total of 30 chapters one will find a short
description of each topic, followed by a collection of the five best sites
with a short essay on each. There follows in each chapter a selection of
good sites as well as a brief bibliography. Not only students of Black Studies, whether at school,
university or community centre, will find it invaluable, but everyone of
whatever ethnicity with any interest in this subject will soon find it as
indispensable to their home computer as their scanner and printer. Although a few sites in the Caribbean and Britain are
mentioned, a similar resource or further impressions of this first edition
extending coverage to Black sites in these regions is already very
necessary. If a major search engine is asked to list sites in Particularly in larger cities in Both Africans and South Asians
have impressive histories as well as magnificent cultures which are
radically different to each other, and each deserves its own individual
promotion. The only similarity between them is the imperialism and racism
each has had to suffer at the hands of past and present English natives.
However, as Africans and Caribbeans have celebrated their Black History
Month each October for over a decade, South Asians should be encouraged to
use another part of the year for their own Asian History Month, and so
defeat these meddlers both on and off the internet. Published December 2003 by Hard back £45.00 ISBN 0

the US 'interest' Central Asian states, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan combined have an estimated 6.7 trillion cubic metres of oil, worth approximately $2,000 billion. US military aid to these four countries plus Turkmenistan is planned to rise from $8.6 million in 2001 to $20.5 million in 2003. A $2 billion oil pipeline is planned to be built by a US corporation from Turkmenistan across Afghanistan to a Pakistani port. The Kurds are denied their right to nationhood because substantial portions of Turkish, Iranian, Syrian and Iraqi oil comes from their territory. The Kurds might be more likely to sell their oil to Russia than the US. KB 15.09.02
