That’s why it’s called the present

I was widowed very suddenly in 2004. As my husband Dave was the full time carer for his mother, who lived next door, she went to live in a nursing home as she had Alzheimer's and needed care 24/7. Sadly she died earlier this year.
My daughter, after spending a few years living and working in London at Battersea Dog’s Home and the RSPCA Putney Animal Hospital, now lives next door with her partner and their son Max.
I have the Tree of Life symbol tattooed on my shoulder.
As my husband was called David, was a carpenter, liked working with oak, was the village tree warden and has an oak tree planted in his memory it seemed an appropriate symbol to have.
The Buddhist saying ‘Today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present’ is also on the plaque by his oak tree on the village green.
Tree of Life
A druid symbol and the word Duir means men of oak and also represents the letter D, symbolising strength and endurance.
