Every year in the summer I spend a chill out week with friends in a place called Cwmtydu on the coast of Cardigan Bay.
No mobile phone signal, lots of walking and lots of daft things to do like build stone castles (no sand in Cwmtydu) and chat to Selwyn the seal - who you can just see pocking her head out the water in the picture.
A truly get away from it all week.
Easy to reach New Quay for a sandy beach, Newcastle Emlyn for a really great shop that sells hippy type clothes and it is said that here the last dragon in Wales was killed whilst resting on the castle walls.
Best food around is home cooked by the husband of the friend I stay with.  His broad bean curry is unequalled as is his onion & garlic gravy with sausage & mash.

Cwmtydu Cove
In late August and September grey seals have given birth in this small sheltered bay.
