So, why a page about animals? It all started with the way we feel about fox hunting. If you are pro-hunt then we suggest you either exit this page and the whole site at once or read our fox page and maybe you'll change your minds.
Actually it didn't just start there but a long time ago - Friends of the Earth, Save the Whale rallies (including building giant whales to exhibit in the local shopping centre) and a general awareness that animals have as much right to inhabit this earth as we do.
So, we are into the environmental/ecological thing, are naturally anti-hunt, anti-intensive farming (etc., etc.) and have been (and one of us still is) vegetarian. We feel animals should be treated well and kept in suitable or sustainable conditions whether as pets, in the wild or as a food source.
It could be argued that keeping pets is an exploitation in itself, however domestic pets are here to stay and why shouldn't some of them spend happy, comfortable lives with us, rather than with others.
We are not crackpots or weirdos (see how respectable we are in our About Us page) who know little about country ways or run around panicstricken about BSE (the odd fillet steak is very nice thankyou - lets face it even carrot juice in excess is bad for you) but ordinary people who feel that animals deserve better!
