The Christianity Links and Resources Directory has had a slight face-lift, and some new material added. Because the number of links was beginning to get unwieldy I've divided the links sections into their own web pages; to get to them, click on the red buttons below.
No words can begin to adequately express the events of Tuesday 11th September, 2001. Whilst I am British and have no direct links with the US, the fact remains that no-one can be unmoved by this tragedy. I share in your sadness, loss and grief.
The Ship-of-Fools, the Magazine of Christian Unrest, has set up a special page where you can pray or leave your thoughts. This can be accessed here.
I am a little concerned that some within the Christian fold have seen fit to use this event as a cynical attempt to push their own extremist agendas. I'd like to distance myself from them, and say that talk of God's judgement, and putting some kind of spiritual blame on people that they don't like, is not the kind of Christianity I want to be associated with. This event is a tragedy for us all, gay, straight, black, white, Christian, Moslem, US National or visitor. And I believe that the compassion and grief of God is with all who have been affected, regardless of who they are, or what they are.
This site is aimed at bringing together useful links to Christianity on the Web. I aim to include sites that encourage sensible thinking about Christianity, and other resources for people who find most of the Christian stuff on the web a bit - erm - loopy.
This is not a Fundamentalist site, nor one which aims to tell you what to believe. If thats what you want, then fine, but the paths part here. I think you probably wont like what youll find. This is for people who like to fly kites, to wonder, to think, and to find God wherever He may be, and not necessarily where other people tell us He is.
This site is selective. I've not included anything that anyone could find with ten seconds and a search engine. I've included stuff that's unusual, that took a while to find, or was recommended to me, and therefore that I think you might not find so easily.
It's a bit like shopping. If you want bread, you can go anywhere. If you want some exotic Nigerian spice, you're going to have to go to a specialist shop. Think of this as being a sort of specialist directory, with a few fun things thrown in.
Don't expect to find 'both sides of the arguement' here necessarily. I'll include a link to any site that I think has something sensible to say, whether it's my view or not. But not to anything stupid. So you get a link to the True Freedom Trust, and to the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Christian Movement, but not to 'God Hates Fags'. Similarly, no links here to Young Earth Creationist material, because I have yet to find any that is worthshile, and see little reason to try. 'Sides, type 'Creationism' into any search engine and you'll find more than you can deal with.
People have used the directory. Hope it was useful.
