The column headed "Reference" gives the number of the record in the register. The first part of the number gives the number of the register and the second part gives the number of the record in that register. For example, 1.342 means entry number 342 in register number 1.
The date of birth (where given in the register) is given in brackets after
the name of the person baptised.
? after a surname indicates some doubt as to the
correct spelling
* after a surname indicates that there is
additional information in the register
** after a surname indicates some doubt about the date of the
baptism
