This branch of the Drinnan family relates to a number of the children of David Drinnan, born in Kilmarnock in 1827, and Margaret MacDonald, born in Glasgow in 1828, who emigrated to Canada.

Additionally, Ann Drinnan, born in 1829 in Kilmarnock, married Robert McCreadie (McCradie). Ann died in 1858 and in 1861 he married her sister, Margaret, born 1822. They emigrated with Ann's three children to Bulwark, Canada where three further children were born.
