Joseph Johnson was born in Brandon on 4th December 1875 and died in Redcar, Yorkshire on 11th August 1952.

He was the son of John Johnson and Margaret Potts and married Eleanor Hannah Higginbottom on 29 July 1899.

Together they had three children the eldest of whom was Elsie Johnson, the mother of Keith Drinnan Mahan
